Candidate David Robinson II Invites Rep. Joe Wilson to Join Public Town Hall in Columbia

COLUMBIA, S.C. — David Robinson II, Democratic candidate for South Carolina’s 2nd Congressional District, is inviting incumbent Representative Joe Wilson to join him at a public Town Hall on July 31, 2025, at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. The event will begin at 6:00 PM and is open to the public.

Robinson is calling on Rep. Wilson to engage directly with the voters of District 2 in an open discussion focused on the issues that matter most to constituents, including healthcare, infrastructure, job creation, access to clean water, rural investment, and the controversial “Big Beautiful Bill” that Wilson supported.

“It’s one of the most important things that a congressman can do for his constituents—listen to them, engage with them, and represent their interests above party,” Robinson said.

The Town Hall will feature a moderated discussion followed by a live Q&A, giving residents of District 2 the opportunity to ask questions and hear directly from both candidates on their positions and priorities.

Robinson, a combat veteran, father, and founder of the Daniel Robinson Foundation, is challenging Wilson for the second time after a strong showing in the 2024 election. He has campaigned on a platform of unity, transparency, and service over partisanship, consistently emphasizing the need to bridge political divides and focus on everyday issues affecting South Carolinians.

“This isn’t about political theater,” Robinson added. “This is about accountability, honesty, and showing the people that their voices matter.”

All Congressional Dist 2 voters, regardless of political affiliation, are encouraged to attend.
